📣Champion of Champions Final!📣

Valentine Sports Park is the place to be this Sunday as our Women’s Premier League team take on Gymea United to be crowned FNSW’s Champion of Champions.

💪 It’s been a long road for our women this year, playing what will be their 35th competitive game of the season on Sunday. The team has had significant successes already in 2024, bringing back the league title in July, and going deep into both State Cup and Sapphire Cup competitions. Notably, this group of talented women became the first Association women’s team to defeat and NPL team, after a famous 3-1 victory at Heffron Park. 🙌

🖤The season has not been without challenge; a two week disaster period saw 3 strikers sidelines with significant injuries, and a heavier than usual August European exodus, but the squad really dug deep and we found goal scorers all throughout the team in their absence, scoring an incredible 121 goals this year.

🤍The road to VSP has seen 10 of those goals across the 3 previous finals matches, with a dramatic extra time win over a strong Football South Coast outfit, Woonona Sharks, and more recently Sunday’s 3-0 semi final defeat of a much-hyped Flying Bats team, keeping them scoreless for the first time all season.

When asked what the biggest strength of the team has been this season, Coach Michèal credits the balance of the team. “I’ve played in and coached teams where there has been a heavy reliance on one or two individuals, but with this team there are leaders all over the field with a shared responsibility and courage to make things happen.”

The team will focus on enjoying the day Sunday, they’ve worked incredibly hard to get to this point and played some tough teams on the way. They’ll look to play their best football on the biggest stage, and would love to have your support! DM if you need transport out to VSP, it will be a cracker of a game!

⚽️ Sunday Funday at Hensley Athletic yesterday… for the first time in club history we had three teams competing in the Semi Final round of the NSW Champions of Champions tournament.

🖤 Our WPL squad squared off against the Flying Bats FC. Goals scored by Daisy, Kiara, and Lou—coupled with stellar defense from the squad—gave Coogee a 3-0 win and booked their ticket to the Final next week! 👊

🤍 Our MPL lads faced off against Kenthurst & District and with a 4-0 win they too are heading on to the Final round of CoC. 💪
